Photographie d'architecture à Berlin

Début 2001, Markus Bollen a commencé à prendre des photographies d'architecture des nouveaux bâtiments du gouvernement et de l'ambassade à Berlin.

L'architecture sophistiquée et les signes de puissance sur la Spree sont ses thèmes.

L' attentat contre le World Trade Center à New York s'est produit le 11 septembre 2001 , alors qu'il installait sa caméra grand format au Foreign Office. Tous les permis obtenus jusque-là ont été suspendus pendant 2 ans. Ce n'est qu'en 2003 qu'il a pu continuer sa série.

Le résultat est des clichés intemporels d'une architecture qui a déjà en partie une histoire mouvementée derrière elle.

Par exemple, le ministère des Affaires étrangères était le bâtiment de la Reichsbank dans le Troisième Reich, à l'époque de la RDA, le ministère des Finances y résidait, plus tard le Comité central du SED.
